The 15th annual New York City Poetry Festival — "A Modern Odyssey" — takes over Nolan Park on Governors Island for a free two-day poetry village, presented by The Poetry Society of New York. Expect back-to-back readings on five stages, a Youth Festival, the Poetry Brothel's literary cabaret, and the Ring of Daisies open mic, where anyone can get up and perform. July 18–19, 2026, 11am–6pm. Free and open to all — the only cost is the Governors Island ferry. RSVP and full lineup on Eventbrite.
