NYC in Transit is a Film Forum series celebrating the city's subway system — along with its trolleys, buses, and old elevated lines — as it appears across a century of film, timed to the New York Transit Museum's 50th anniversary. The lineup runs from silent-era New York through the gritty city of the 1970s and '80s. Screenings include Speedy (1928, with live piano accompaniment), The Naked City (1948), The French Connection (1971), The Taking of Pelham One Two Three (1974), The Warriors (1979), Stations of the Elevated (1981), Dutchman (1966), East Side, West Side (1927), and Tracking Shots: Films from the New York Transit Museum's Archives. On select dates from July 28 to September 8, 2026, at Film Forum, 209 West Houston Street. $18 general / $12 members; the full schedule and per-film tickets are on the Film Forum site.
